Having burnished his reputation as one of the nation's top defensive coordinators during an eight-year tenure at Michigan State, Pat Narduzzi had several opportunities to become a head coach.
Narduzzi acknowledges having passed on a few job feelers, stating he would only leave the stability of the Spartans and working for highly respected head coach Mark Dantonio for "the right situation."
Narduzzi found the right fit at the University of Pittsburgh, a proud program that has never quite been able to recapture the glory years of the 1970s under head coaches Johnny Majors and Jackie Sherrill.
