Head coach Ken Niumatalolo remains baffled about what he saw from the Navy football team last Thursday night in Philadelphia. The Midshipmen turned in one of the most lackluster performances of Niumatalolo’s 10-year tenure in losing for the first time in 13 trips to Lincoln Financial Field.
Playing in a familiar venue that has almost become like a second home, Navy showed no energy or emotion in being beaten, 34-26, by host Temple. Quarterback Zach Abey and the offense were overwhelmed at the point of attack while linebacker D.J. Palmore and the defense were a step slow throughout as the Mids suffered their third straight loss.
