Military Bowl to create wounded veteran retreat on Eastern Shore

The people behind the Military Bowl, played in Annapolis for the past three years, are setting up an Eastern Shore retreat for wounded military veterans.

The land, outside Cambridge, is surrounded on three sides by water and fronts the Little Choptank River. Maps call the point jutting out into the river Poverty Point, but it will now be known as Patriot Point.

“Patriot Point will be a place for the men and women who serve our nation so selflessly to take the time to recharge,” DC Bowl Committee President & Executive Director Steve Beck said in a written statement.
