Retired U.S. Army Sergeant Neil Duncan provided an inspirational speech at Sunday's official Military Bowl luncheon, held at the J.W. Marriott in downtown D.C.
Duncan is a double amputee, having suffered catastrophic injuries to both legs when the jeep he was riding in was blown up by an improvised explosive device while on a reconnaissance patrol in Afghanistan.
After a long period of recovery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Sgt. Duncan has become a role model for other service members that have lost limbs in combat. Duncan has jogged with President Bush, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and summited Mount Denali.
