Following Wednesday's victory over Loyola, Navy men's basketball coach Ed DeChellis thought the Mids stole a win with their sloppy play.
Just three days later, the Mids put together an impressive all-around performance in taking care of Lafayette.
Will Kelly scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked a pair of shots and was one of four players in double-figures to lead Navy to an 87-61 victory over Lafayette on Saturday at Alumni Hall. The Mids won their fifth straight conference game for the first time since 2008 and have already surpassed last year's 13 wins.
Navy (14-5) is off to a 5-1 start in the Patriot League, its best since opening 6-1 in 2001.
