West Point, N.Y. — Navy coach Ed DeChellis says the success of his basketball team depends on three things: playing defense, rebounding and taking care of the basketball.
Two out of three isn't bad as the Midshipmen outscored Army 28-10 in the paint, won the rebounding battle by eight and posted a 64-50 Star Game victory before 3,133 fans at Christl Arena on Monday.
"Our kids did a great job defensively,'' DeChellis said. "That's who we are. If we can defend and rebound and take care of the ball and not turn the ball over we give ourselves a chance to win.
