Starting attackmen Christian Daniel and Jack Sweeney combined for six goals, while All-Patriot League goalkeeper Ryan Kern made 16 saves to lead the 20th-ranked Navy men’s lacrosse team to a 12-7 victory over Lafayette on Saturday afternoon in Patriot League action at Fisher Stadium in Easton, Pa.
The Mids (4-2, 2-0 Patriot League), who never trailed in the contest, held an 8-2 lead at the half and held the Leopards (4-3, 0-2 PL) scoreless for better than 20 minutes to improve to 2-0 in the Patriot League.
“It was great to see our defense bounce back from Tuesday’s performance (lost 19-11 to Princeton), and now we must build on it going forward,” said eighth-year Navy head coach Rick Sowell.
