The Patriot League men’s basketball season has suffered a setback two days before it was set to begin.
Loyola Maryland has been forced to postpone two weekends worth of games due to a positive COVID-19 test within its program. According to a press release issued Thursday afternoon by the Patriot League, the individual that tested positive was classified as being in Tier 1.
Tier 1 is the highest exposure tier and consists of individuals for whom physical distancing and face coverings are not possible or effective during athletic training or competition. Examples of relevant individuals include student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, medical staff, equipment staff and officials.
