Knorr sets pace as Mids rout UMBC

CATONSVILLE – Navy's Kendall Knorr came out firing, draining a 3-pointer from the corner on the second possession then adding two more baskets from beyond the arc in the opening 6½ minutes. The senior swingman had the hot hand and Navy head coach Ed DeChellis encouraged him to keep shooting.

Knorr wound up making four 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 18 points as Navy cruised to a 75-54 victory over UMBC on Wednesday night at the Retriever Activities Center. Senior center Will Kelly totaled 14 points and six rebounds for the Midshipmen (3-2), who have won three straight after starting the season 0-2.
