Matt Hogan will never forget the first time he spotted John Kluh.
Hogan, head coach of St. Mary’s High at the time, was an instructor at John Lamon’s World Class Lacrosse Camp when he spotted a second grader that was significantly smaller than any other player on the field.
“I walk out on the field at Annapolis Middle School and see this little kid running headlong to the goal and a defenseman poke-checked him right in the neck,” Hogan recalled.
It was a vicious blow that caused the youngster to lie on the field for a few moments while trying to recover.
