Ken Niumatalolo, the most successful football coach in Naval Academy history, will remain with the Midshipmen, according to Navy athletics director Chet Gladchuk.
Gladchuk confirmed Wednesday evening that Niumatalolo, who has led the Mids to a 10-2 record this season, will stay at the academy. Niumatalolo showed interest in the opening at Brigham Young University, touring the campus and interviewing with officials in Provo, Utah, on Monday.
Niumatalolo has spent 18 seasons as part of Navy's coaching staff, including the last eight as head coach.
He is the all-time winningest coach in program history with a 67-37 career record and has gone 8-0 against archrival Army.
