Keenan Reynolds has been given permission to play for the Baltimore Ravens this season, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus told The Dan Patrick Show on Friday.
Reynolds, a sixth-round pick of the Ravens, will fulfill his service commitment in the Navy Reserves, which will allow him to play full-time for the Ravens.
An official announcement will be made Friday afternoon.
New England Patriots long-snapper Joe Cardona has also received approval from the Navy to play this season.
The Navy gets a five-year service commitment from Reynolds in exchange for his undergraduate education, but in some cases, the Secretary of the Navy will waive or rearrange that commitment.
