The Jasper family has been praying for a miracle for the past five months.
Those prayers were answered on Monday when Ivin and Donna Jasper learned their teenage son Jarren was going to get his perfect heart.
Jarren Jasper underwent a heart transplant early Tuesday morning at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Barbara Niumatalolo reported from the hospital that the surgery was a success and Jarren’s new heart was beating on its own.
Ivin Jasper, longtime offensive coordinator for the Navy football team, provided this update on Tuesday morning just prior to noon.
