Tuesday is a bit early for Midweek Meanderings, but we nonetheless offer this periodic column in honor of the late Joe Gross, former sports editor of The Capital who regularly penned a column titled Weekend Wanderings.
It’s a really big deal that Terry Hutchinson was selected as CEO and skipper of the America’s Cup campaign that is representing the venerable New York Yacht Club.
Hutchinson long ago established himself as one of the world’s premier professional sailors and has a long list of impressive accomplishments on his resume. The lifelong Harwood resident has been involved with four previous America’s Cup campaigns, most notably serving as tactician for Team New Zealand when it lost to Alinghi Racing in the 2007 finals.
