Has Navy option lost its mystique in American?

A recent article previewing the upcoming American Athletic Conference campaign suggested that Navy's triple-option offense will no longer be a mystery to the other schools.

Having seen the unique attack last season, AAC coaches would make adjustments and have a better plan for defending it. That was the premise put forth by the author, who concluded by stating "the mystique is gone" with regard to the option.

Not surprisingly, American Athletic Conference head coaches scoffed at that notion when it was mentioned. Three West Division coaches who faced the Midshipmen last season said they still are not looking forward to going against the well-orchestrated scheme.
