Brooke Griffin, a South River High graduate, is one of six former members of the Maryland women's lacrosse team who were named to the 18-player U.S. Women's National Team that will compete in the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse Women's World Cup, US Lacrosse announced Wednesday.
Attackers Alex Aust (2013) and Griffin (2015), midfielders Taylor Cummings (2016) and Katie Schwarzmann (2013) and defenders Megan Douty (2015) and Alice Mercer (2016) were selected to the U.S. squad.
The Terps have the most representatives on the 2017 U.S. team of any collegiate program.
The team was selected from a 25-player U.
