Garret Lewis’ second career start was going well. He had just led his team to a scoring drive to start the second half and the Navy football team had a 10-point lead on Temple.
While there weren’t any glaring, major mistakes by Lewis the rest of the way, the offense suddenly couldn’t move the ball. Temple, meanwhile, scored on three of its next four drives and got out of Annapolis with the seven-point win.
With the Mids needing more production from the slotbacks mainly due to injuries, Lewis was named the starter for Saturday’s game in an effort to utilize Malcolm Perry on the outside.
