Frost played for a pair of legendary head coaches in Bill Walsh at Stanford and Tom Osborne at Nebraska. A quarterback at the collegiate level, Frost transformed himself into a safety and wound up playing six seasons in the National Football League. He had the good fortune of being on teams led by three future Hall of Famers in Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick and Jon Gruden.
Frost retired from professional football and got into college coaching full-time in 2006.
