Many midshipmen realize during their time at the Naval Academy they don't want to serve a five-year military commitment.
Kriss Proctor came to that conclusion, but the timing was rather unfortunate.
Proctor, a four-year member of the football team, resigned from the Naval Academy the week he was due to graduate.
"I just wasn't gung-ho about being in the military. It didn't fit me," Proctor said.
