Miami Dolphins rookie Malcolm Perry opened some eyes during training camp back in August with his catching ability. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound running back/wideout developed a good rapport with first-round draft pick quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as a slot receiver, but neither saw the field in the first half of the season.
Both made their first career starts against the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 1 in Week 8, and Perry, the former record-breaking Navy quarterback who was drafted by Miami in the seventh round in April, caught his first pass from Tagovailoa in the contest.
On Sunday, Perry accomplished a much more significant feat as an NFL player by catching his first touchdown, a 25-yarder in the front corner of the end zone with 2:47 left against the Buffalo Bills.
