Last December, Zach Abey watched the Army-Navy game from the stands at Lincoln Financial Field along with the rest of the Brigade of Midshipmen.
One year later, Abey will be the starting quarterback for Navy as it attempts to extend its historic winning streak against Army.
It was a circumstance no one would have foreseen in August when Abey was battling a handful of other young quarterbacks for a spot on the depth chart. Tago Smith was penciled in as the starter while fellow senior Will Worth provided an experienced backup.
Fast forward five months and Navy's quarterback situation has taken a dramatic turn.
