Navy men's lacrosse suffered significant losses on the offensive end of the field since conclusion of the 2016 season.
Offensive quarterback Patrick Keena (55 points) and fellow attackman T.J. Hanzsche (23 goals) graduated, as did first midfielder Kevin Wendel (22 points).
That left attackman Jack Ray (38 points) and midfielder Casey Rees (34 goals) as the leading returning scorers. Rees suffered a season-ending knee injury in January while Ray played in just two games before going down with a foot injury.
Needless to say, the Midshipmen suddenly found themselves having to replace a ton of production.
