Family and friends was the theme of the night as five deserving individuals were inducted into the Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame.
All five candidates spoke poignantly about the importance of family support and the friendships developed over the course of their careers. It was an emotional evening with plenty of laughter and tears.
Brooks Barnard, Dave Johnson, Tim Mealey, Dave Norton and Kevin Slade were formally enshrined during the 27th annual Anne Arundel County Sports Hall of Fame banquet, held Wednesday night at Michael’s Eighth Avenue.
Slade, a legendary figure in the Annapolis sports community, died of a heart attack at the age of 25.
