This season has brought a roller coaster of emotions for Oliver Drake, who has emerged as a reliable relief pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers after being demoted by the Baltimore Orioles.
Drake saw his career trajectory take a dramatic turn on April 13 in a dizzying series of events. There was initially disappointment as the former Naval Academy baseball player was informed by the Orioles that he was being designated for assignment. However, the 30-year-old journeyman quickly learned that he'd been traded to the Brewers.
"I found out when we were in Toronto that I was getting designated and traded to Milwaukee," Drake recalled.
