Visitors to Navy football practice on Wednesday would have no idea the unassuming gentleman wearing the tan uniform was one of the greatest quarterbacks in program history.
These days, Lt. Ricky Dobbs looks just like any of the many officers stationed at the academy who stop by the fields overlooking the Severn River to watch the Midshipmen go through their daily drills.
Dobbs is still in decent shape, although not nearly as strong and fit as he was during his collegiate playing days. He's been in the service for six years and still harbors dreams of one day playing in the National Football League.
