NAVY WOMEN’S SOCCER: Navy (2-2) concluded its weekend with a 1-0 home victory over UNC-Wilmington.
UNCW, whose only prior loss this season was to No. 10 Virginia by a 2-0 score, couldn’t penetrate Navy’s defense.
An Ash Fairow goal in the 47th minute was the difference-maker as goalie Sydney Fortson and the Mids’ defense posted its second straight shutout.
“That’s a very good win against a very good team,” saide Navy head coach Carin Gabarra. “They (UNCW) high-pressed, they’ve got athletes and they’re very organized. That’s a very good win for us.
