NAVY MEN’S SOCCER: The Navy men’s soccer team fell at Manhattan, 1-0, on Friday night at Gaelic Park in the season opener for both teams. Manhattan scored the game’s lone goal in the 77th minute.
Manhattan sophomore midfielder Milan Devuyst took a shot that was saved by Navy goalkeeper Mac Burke, but senior forward Troy Carrington was there to knock in the rebound for the game-winning goal.
“We had a lot of good play,” said Navy head coach Tim O’Donohue. “But we just had a critical mistake, and that was the difference.”
Manhattan goalkeeper Connor Hayes made three saves in the shutout victory.
