NAVY BASEBALL: The Mids used a breakout offensive start to its non-conference road game at George Mason on Wednesday to earn a 13-9 victory. The Mids (34-11-1) scored 11 runs over its first two at bats to jump out to an 11-7 lead through two innings over the Patriots (13-28) before each team's bullpen settled things down over time to the tune of two runs each over the final seven innings.
"It was one of those games that was really strange," remarked head coach Paul Kostacopoulos. "The two teams combined for 13 runs in the first inning and 18 through two, that set a weird tone for the game.
