Kaila Clark was an important part of the Navy gameplan going into the showdown against archrival Army.
Head coach Stefanie Pemper had chosen to have Clark defend Aliyah Murray, who came into the contest on somewhat of a hot streak. That decision was a nod to Clark’s versatility as a defender as Murray is a perimeter player. Clark normally defends opposing post players.
Clark made the coaching staff look good by limiting Murray to 11 points on 4-for-9 field goal shooting.
“I thought that was a little bit of a risk and it was fun to see it play out well,” Pemper said.
