With the annual Army-Navy football game just a few weeks away, CBS Sunday Morning devoted one of its "Almanac" segments Sunday to the history of the rivalry.
The piece featured archival footage from games through the years, and mentioned how then-Assistant Secretary of the Navy Theodore Roosevelt helped saved the rivalry in its early stages. The teams met for the first time in 1890.
Also mentioned was that several presidents have attended the game, including Harry S Truman and John F. Kennedy.
This year's Army-Navy game will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
