Randy Cross used the word “refreshing” when asked to assess Saturday’s American Athletic Conference matchup between Navy and Tulane.
Cross, color analyst for the CBS Sports Network that is broadcasting the contest, finds it refreshing to find a pair of old-school head coaches like Navy’s Ken Niumatalolo and Willie Fritz. In an era when so many college football coaches are akin to matinee idols, these two men care only about winning.
“These are two coaches that are just about football, just about game and just about players,” Cross said.
