Anne Arundel County resident travels a long way to get recruited by Navy football

When Jamal Glenn chose the Maret School over Archbishop Spalding and Meade High, he did so knowing it would involve a difficult commute.

Glenn, who lives in the Anne Arundel County portion of Laurel, was dropped off around dawn at the Greenbelt Metro Station to begin the journey. He got off at Gallery Place and switched to the red line for the ride to the Woodley Park stop. From there, it was about a 15-minute walk to the private school located on Cathedral Avenue in northwest, D.C.

“It takes about an hour and a half on a good day, two hours on a bad day,” Glenn said.
