Focusing on the process and not worrying about the results has proven a formula for sustained success for the Navy men’s tennis team.
Senior captain Andrew Ton led the way as Navy secured its third straight Patriot League tournament title late last month. The Midshipmen have now captured nine of the last 14 conference championships, earning an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament as a result.
“I think the bulk of credit goes to coach Garner. He’s been an amazing asset to the program,” Ton said. “It’s not about the wins and losses, it’s more about personal growth.
