It was looking like Senior Day was going to end on a sour note.
Then Shawn Anderson took over and saved the Navy men’s basketball program from an incredibly disappointing defeat.
Anderson scored six of his 13 points on consecutive possessions to spark an impressive game-ending rally as Navy pulled away to beat Loyola, 62-56, before an announced crowd of 1,942 at Alumni Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Junior forward George Kiernan came off the bench to score 17 points for Navy (20-11, 11-7), which closed the contest on a 15-2 run and clinched the third seed for the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.
