Record-breaking wide receiver Jalen Robinette was expected to become the first Air Force Academy football player in 28 years to be taken in the NFL Draft.
Then the United States Air Force dropped a bombshell that severely impacted Robinette's stock.
On Thursday, Air Force Academy administrators were informed that graduates would not be allowed to pursue professional sports until serving two years on active duty. The Denver Post first reported the news, which is widely believed to have caused Robinette to go undrafted.
"The Air Force notified academy officials that the service would not approve requests to waiver active duty military service commitments for cadet athletes," the Air Force Academy announced in a statement on Thursday.
