Malcolm Perry is the clear-cut starting quarterback for the Navy football team.
That significant decision was made prior to last year’s Army-Navy game and was further reinforced toward the end of spring camp when Zach Abey, the 2017 starter, was moved to wide receiver.
If healthy, Perry will start every game and go the distance at quarterback. However, it does not mean the Midshipmen might not use other players at quarterback this season.
Head coach Ken Niumatalolo said during the American Athletic Conference Football Media Day that Navy will continue to use Abey in short-yardage situations and also did not rule out backup quarterback Garret Lewis getting some game repetitions.
