On the surface, Navy's season-long motto of 1-0 is somewhat corny.

Co-captains Keenan Reynolds and Bernie Sarra came up with the mantra, but more importantly those two standout seniors have made sure their teammates live by it.
Navy owns an 8-1 record for the first time since 1963 because everyone involved with the program – players, coaches and support personnel – has completely bought into the philosophy behind the 1-0 slogan.
Head coach Ken Niumatalolo said as much following Saturday's game when he joked that he was overpaid because Navy's 32 seniors have totally taken ownership of this season, providing all the leadership and motivation that is necessary.
