Michie Stadium on the campus of West Point will host “America’s Game” on Saturday for the first time since 1943. A pandemic has accomplished what only World War II managed to do, pushing college football’s most famous rivalry out of an NFL stadium.
It will truly be foreign territory for the Navy football program since none of the players or coaches have so much as stepped foot on the West Point campus.
Navy’s current seniors have grown accustomed to playing the Army-Navy game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. They’re familiar with everything about the stadium, from the locker room to the playing surface to the ambiance.
