In case you missed it, the Oilers won the draft lottery last night, and will have the top pick for the 4th time in 6 years. While we all feel horrible for Connor McDavid, whose life is now over, destined to be a loser for the next several years at least, this could be a positive for the league in discouraging the Tank Wars. Buffalo was purposefully awful for TWO YEARS to get in a spot to land McDavid, and it still didn't work. Arizona joined the race to the bottom and ended up with #3. We'll have to see what effect this has going forward, but it definitely should give teams something to think about before they plan to torture their fans and the league for an entire season.
