The Chicago Cubs stared down the Curse of the Billy Goat winning the World Series after 108 years. Players featured on the Madden game cover either become injured or decline in performance, as do those featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. As for hockey, there is the Curse of the President’s Trophy. And the Nashville Predators are in line to win the trophy.
Since the 2005-06 season, only two teams who won the President’s Trophy won Lord Stanley’s Cup: the 2007-08 Detroit Red Wings and the 2012-13 Chicago Blackhawks.
