Storms can be devastating. High winds, hail, pouring rains causing floods. But, one of the most dangerous aspects of a storm is lightning. On average, 100 bolts of lightning hit the Earth every second. Each bolt can contain 1 billion volts of electricity. People who are struck by lightning do survive more often than not.
