Nashville Predators GM David Poile had warned that the Preds might be more patient than most teams in the NHL Free Agency Draft. He didn’t want to overpay on Day 1 and it appears that some teams did.
Edmonton signed Milan Lucic for SEVEN years at $42 million. 30-year old Andrew Ladd signed for SEVEN years at nearly $6 million per. They could have resigned Kyle Okposo for that much. Another 30 plus year old, Loui Ericsson signs for SIX years at $6 million a year.
Thank you David Poile for not putting us in Salary Cap hell with those deals.
