For the first time since the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Nashville Predators will have a first round pick. They will pick 17th right after the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings. They will choose right ahead of the Flyers and Islanders.
As a matter of fact, this will be the only the third time that the Nashville Predators have a first-round pick in the past six years. They traded their first round picks in 2011, 2012, and 2015. The last time the Preds had a pick in the first, they chose Kevin Fiala.
This year for the 54th NHL Draft, it will be held from June 24–25, 2016 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York.
