At the Nashville Predators end of the year Press Conference, GM David Poile talked about player movement in the offseason. He mentioned two players that probably wouldn’t be back with the team next year.
Those two are Paul Gaustad who is at the end of his contract and he also mentioned Eric Nystrom, saying that he would probably be either bought out or traded. It’s hard to believe that someone would want to take on Nystrom’s $3 million dollar salary for next season at age 33, so he will probably be bought out.
We hadn’t really heard much from Nystrom about the situation until this morning when this very simple tweet showed up on his account on Twitter:
Goodbye Nashville.
