It’s Hammer Time in Nashville. News broke this morning that the Nashville Predators were bringing back Dan Hamhuis on a two-year deal. It’s an out of the blue signing, but one that many fans will be excited about. Hamhuis was a first-round pick for the Nashville Predators in 2001 and spent his first six seasons with the team. In his rookie year, he helped the Predators notch their first playoff birth.
While the signing caught some off-guard, it shouldn’t be too surprising. David Poile likes to bring back former players after they leave (see Scott Hartnell, Cody Franson).
