When Don Lucia retired as head coach of Minnesota a couple years ago, he knew he wasn’t going to be away from the game entirely.
After spending the last two seasons helping Minnesota’s and Alaska’s programs in various capacities, while shuttling between his homes in the Twin Cities and Fairbanks, Lucia has formally made his way back to college hockey by accepting the job as commissioner of the CCHA.
There’s been rumors of dissent from the non-Minnesota based schools, almost as if they expect favoritism to come into play. However, those are only rumors.
