Today, the Nashville Predators announced they have loaned forward Eeli Tolvanen to Jokerit of the KHL for the start of the 2020-21 season. The terms of the loan, mutually agreed to by the KHL club and the Nashville organization, conclude once NHL training camps begin for the upcoming season.
As of the current schedule, training camp is set to open on November 17, 2020 for a league start day of December 1. Jokerit will play in 28 regular season games, beginning September 3, before this November deadline.
Furthermore, this move would suggest that Nashville is serious about Tolvanen’s opportunity to make the opening night roster in Nashville by giving him serious professional playing time, as the AHL season start is delayed.
