Shea Weber and David Poile were both inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Tuesday, with Weber joining the players there in his first year of eligibility–along with co-inductee Pavel Datsyuk–and Poile, obviously, being recognized as a builder.
Poile was an obvious shoo-in, but questions about whether Weber would be recognized for his undoubted talent remained until the announcement. The Preds have yet to win a Stanley Cup, and Weber never won an individual award–while spending the prime years of his career on a stacked defensive corps that often split Norris votes.
It’s great to see them both being recognized this year.
