It started early for Appalachian State at Old Dominion. App racked up 110 first-quarter yards and held ODU to 18. In the second quarter the constant pounding continued and the dam broke. 28 Appalachian points on 186 total yards. The 35-0 halftime gap was the largest since last year’s 42-0 spread over Campbell, and the largest on the road since 2006.
But, ODU isn’t Campbell, yet App State made them look that way. Albeit a young program, App State handed ODU their worst home loss…ever.
What Went Right?
Run Game-to-Opportunistic Passing: We discuss it a lot; App State has a run-to-throw offense.
