COUGAR LEGEND Steve Gleason will have a hospital wing named after him. The Stephen M. Gleason Institute for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine will be housed at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in Spokane.
The state-of-the-art research institute will focus on the neurobiology of neurodegenerative disease and will serve as a central hub between WSU scientists and clinicians spanning all WSU campuses.
The facility will be 65,000 square feet and include 20 new labs, research core facilities, vivariums, auditoriums, classrooms and faculty/lab staff offices. The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine plans to begin admitting students in 2017.
